Heading into the city of Sydney?
The Museum Of Contemporary Art is a great place to take the kids. The whole family can check out some modern art and the kids can also get involved and make their own art.
The best part there is no charge to enter the main area of the museum.

There are different exhibitions on during the year, when we visited the Light Show was on (Finishing 5th July). In conjunction with the Light Show was the Light Lab, this gave the kids an opportunity to become interactive and create their own art.

Alyssa's Little Opinion: My favourite part was drawing under the lights and seeing my picture glow. I liked walking around and looking at the pictures. You also have to be quiet and not run around, which was sometimes really hard to do.
Ellie's Little Opinion: It was fun being in the city and walking around! At the museum, I liked drawing in the dark and watching my picture come alight. It was also fun standing in front of a coloured screen and seeing my reflection on the wall.
Mum's Big Opinion: If your heading into the city for the day and looking for somewhere to take the kids which will not cost a fortune head to the museum. There is no charge to enter and it's a great opportunity for the kids to check out modern art.
After a stroll around the museum, we headed out for lunch. We choose the Lowenbrau. It is also located at The Rocks and has a limited kids menu. Each meal is only $6.50 plus free face painting.
