Yes, The Sydney Santa Spectacular was a Spectacular!

Each session runs for 3 hours and we packed those 3 hours with unlimited rides, cookie decorating, Xmas arts & crafts, meeting Santa, a walk thru Santa's Food village, ice skating, games  and then some more....

We arrived a little early and prepared ourselves for a long line of waiting... waiting??? Well surprisingly there was no waiting. We found a parking spot very easily on arrival and at the gates we were quickly greeted and ushered into a nice relaxing waiting area with chairs, tables and room for the kids to play it even had a café. For those travelling by train its perfect the front entrance is at the train station.

Right on the start of our session time, the gates opened and our Santa Spectacular started.

Ellie's Little Opinion (9years old): I really liked Sydney Santa Spectacular. I enjoyed the rides, cookie making, art and heaps heaps more.
My favourite ride was Free Fall or the swings. I really enjoyed my slushy on the way out.
I just really liked the arrangement. So try to go you will love it even if you are grown up, my mum did and she is old. I would say it would be rated for age 3 to 86 years.
Alyssa's Little Opinion: This place was so much fun. I liked going on the big slide, the free fall but ice skating was my favourite. I liked watching the ice skating show I wish I could skate just like them. I also loved making the Xmas biscuits and Xmas craft.
Guest Blogger Mitchell's Little Opinion (6years old):  I liked going on the rides. I enjoyed doing the Xmas craft and making the Xmas cookie. My favourite was the jumping castles I could stay on and jump for as long as I liked. I also liked looking at myself in the funny mirrors, I couldn't stop laughing!
Mum's Big Opinion: It was surprise after surprise at this event!
The staff were very friendly and it actually felt like they enjoyed being there. The venue was well presented and decorated.
Most of the rides (free) and side show alley games ($5 each) were located outside with plenty of room to move about. There are lots of options for kids rides depending on age and thrill level.  The lines for the rides were minimal.
Moving inside to the Winter Wonderland, there was a great atmosphere inside the pavilion with the roaming elves and plenty of options for the kids, more rides, ice skating and shows.
My highlight was meeting Santa, he was a wonderful Santa the kids laughed the adults laughed and we all had our photo taken. All children receive a free gift from Santa and there was no obligation to purchase a photo. All our photos of Santa were taken on our own devices.

What time and date did you go? I wonder if some dates and times are busier than others. Thanks!

We went on a Thursday in the middle session which was at 130pm, there were lots of people but it was managed very well. There is lots of space which helps with managing the crowds.

Was not impressed that an additional fee of $5 per child for penguin assistance with ice skating. Paid over $200 for entry, then another $20 to hire an assistant aid! Please!!!!
Not attending again purely because I believe I was taken advantage of!

How does it compare to this year's Santaland at Moore Park?

We were lucky to attend both SantaLand and Sydney Santa Spectacular in 2016. We enjoyed both events. SantaLand is great for families close to the city and they had a wonderful ice skating rink. Sydney Santa Spectacular had more rides to suit different ages and we liked that parking was included. I don't think you would be disappointed if you attended either event. It's a wonderful experience for families and I love how once you have paid to enter all experiences are included in the ticket price.

We paid $250 for a all day pass only to be told that every thing was closing for a hour for a break. Had to get off the ice after 10 min after paying for a penguin. We went on Friday and there were a number of other people with red wrist band asking what was going on that it had all closed for a hour ? Apart from that the show was great and enjoyed by all.

Oh what a shame, let’s hope it was it was just teething issues as it’s the start of the event. Glad to hear the remaining part of the day was good!
